Tips for Refreshing Your Vehicle
Spring is the perfect time to show your car a little love, especially in South Florida where the weather can be harsh on your vehicle all year round. The same way that you mark your calendar to clean out your closets or change your AC filter with the change of each season, it can be helpful to get your vehicle in a clean routine.
The salt, sand, and sun that Summer is known for here can cause damage to your car's exterior and interior, so it's important to give it a good cleaning to keep it in “MINT” condition. Here are our top tips to help you refresh your vehicle for Spring, and get it ready for the Summer ahead:
Wash your car weekly: In South Florida, the UV is starting to strengthen again this time of year. Regularly washing your car with our Mint wash prevents damage caused by the sun thanks to the UV protectant waxes. Washing weekly is like reapplying sunscreen every few hours at the beach! Our Protect wash also includes Salt Away which protects your undercarriage by removing any salt on vulnerable surfaces. Salt Away is used often in the boating industry to protect against rusting and corroding, and breaks apart salt accumulation.

Schedule a hand wax for your car: It’s a good idea for your car to have a hand wax application every 2-3 months to help reset the protective layer on your car’s exterior. While both our Shine and Protect Washes include layers of wax, tunnel applications of wax are meant to serve as a more routine protective layer on the vehicle with the goal of combatting daily wear and tear. A hand wax uses a higher quality wax and is applied manually, ensuring every inch of your vehicle is covered. Regular tunnel washes then keep the hand wax intact for weeks to come. It might help to think of our tunnel washes as similar to layering on sunscreen at the beach periodically, while a hand wax would be the equivalent to putting on a UV long sleeve shirt.
Reset your interior: Did you know that the inside of your car may be dirtier than your toilet? On average, most people spend at least 1-2 hours a day in their car, which means preserving and cleaning the interior is just as important as the exterior. Our recommendation is that you plan to reset the inside of your vehicle twice a year with a Full Interior service, which brings the vehicle back to showroom level clean on the inside. Our experts spent 60-90 minutes shampooing, vacuuming, and disinfecting every nook and cranny inside the vehicle.
Once the vehicle is revived, you can then maintain it on a monthly basis with our 10-minute Maintenance Interior (hence the name!) If you have a dog, kids, or frequent the beach, you would want to consider a mini interior every 1-2 months between full interior services in order to combat the sand, hair, or crumbs..
We also offer free vacuums at all of our locations, making it easy to touch up your interior on a weekly or even daily basis if needed. The key here is to get into a routine that works with your lifestyle and schedule, and then stick to it!
Check the fluids, filters and tires: Finally, it's important to check your car's fluids and filters regularly to ensure that it's running smoothly. Make sure your oil, coolant, and transmission fluids are at the proper levels, and replace them if necessary. Don’t forget to take a look at your air filter and replace it if it's dirty! Take a moment to check the tread on your tires, and make sure that they are all filled to the proper level with air. Your local Wawa has a free air station where you can fill up a low tire if needed!
